  • We’ve got so many things to write about (and some great guest blogs lined up too) but we thought a good place to start would be to tell you a little bit about the people who will be looking after this blog!

  • The Adventures in Scent Team! L-R: Lauren, Nicky and Emily

    Lauren

Q: What was your first ever fragrance and how did you discover it?
A: Givenchy’s Hot Couture  – a present from Santa Claus and a scent I’m still wearing 13 years on!

Q: What are your favourite every day smells?
A: Vanilla, cut grass, coffee, incense, freshly baked bread

Q: What are your current favourite fragrances?
A: Penhaligon’s Amaranthine,  Tom Ford’s Black Orchid,  Serge Lutens’ Five O’Clock Au Gingembre, L’Artisan  Parfumeur’s Vanille Absolument

Q: What would be the dominant notes in your ‘dream’ fragrance?
A:  Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Jasmine, Rose, Spices

    Nicky

Q: What was your first ever fragrance and how did you discover it?
A: The first bottle I owned was a gift of CK One in my early teens.  (But I confess to sneaking into my mother’s dressing room to spritz her Giorgio Beverly Hills – I even used to spray it on my pillow when they went away on business trips!)

Q: What are your favourite every day smells?
A: A guilty pleasure is the smell of petrol – I cannot help but inhale a deep breath when filling up my car.

Q: What are your current favourite fragrances?
A: Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique, Penhaligon’s LP No. 9 for Ladies and Guerlain’s Samsara; I am a drawn to Orientals.

Q: What would be the dominant notes in your ‘dream’ fragrance?
A:  I would say Jasmine, Vanilla and Amber.

    Emily

Q: What was your first ever fragrance and how did you discover it?
A: Thierry Mugler’s Angel, I saw it a magazine and then dragged my Dad to a perfumer whilst on holiday in France to get it! I loved the bottle and was very proud to wear a fragrance that none of my friends had heard of (yet!).

Q: What are your favourite every day smells?
A: Rain on hot concrete, horses, fresh basil, old books, frying bacon!

Q: What would be the dominant notes in your ‘dream’ fragrance?
A:  I would say Jasmine, Vanilla and Amber.

Violetta or Bluebell or Orange Blossom for the day (definitely influenced by my excitement that Spring is not very far away!) and Guerlain’s L’Heure Bleue or my tiny vintage bottle of Schiaparelli’s Shocking for the evening.

Q: What would be the dominant notes in your ‘dream’ fragrance?
A: Heliotrope, Ambergris (the real stuff!), Jasmine from Grasse, Oakmoss and a nice bit of Civet (not the real stuff!).

We’d love to know what ingredients you’d include in your ‘dream’ fragrance…comment and let us know! You never know, it might inspire a new scent!
