Luxury Hotel Bathroom
I took a small gamble buying this without testing it first, as I already like ‘Orange Blossom’. It’s another summer scent, but without the initial notes of sun cream fragrance that I find ‘Orange Blossom’ gives. It smells very clean, like exiting a luxury bathroom after a shower. Not a showstopper like Halfeti but all the better for it.

The best fresh smelling scent ever!
I have been wearing Castile for about 10 years now and it far and away the best clean, fresh "soap" scent out there - blows TF Portofino, Le Labo 22, Kurkdijan's Acqua Universalis, Acqua Di Parma and all the other purportedly fresh smelling scents out of the water. I cannot understand why it is not lauded more. But maybe that's the whole idea - it's understated and elegant. Conjours up an elegant English gentleman wearing a crisp white shirt who has no time for vanity but embodies confidence and refinement. It is however unisex and I love the fresh smell on me. It never fails to bring a smile to my face. So thoroughly uplifting. I'm glad not many people know of it but it also makes me nervous that one day Penhaligon's will deem it not economically viable. Please please never discontinue this magical scent.

A true masterpiece
I received a sample of Castile with my order of a discovery set and it was the first fragrance from Penhaligon’s I tried. The scent was different than anything I had ever smelled before. I tried it a couple more times realized just how phenomenal this fragrance really is. It’s inviting, pleasant, clean. I doubt many people would be put off by this scent. It’s versatile in that it could be worn in virtually any scenario. This will make a unique signature scent and a great addition to any fragrance collection.

Fragrances which sit outside of the portraits and trade route collections, sometimes go unnoticed, and here lies Castile. For those who are looking for a citrus fragrance and whose noses don’t settle at the brighter citruses such as Blenheim Bouquet and Quercus, then the warming notes of Castile may be your befitting fragrance. Neroli and bergamot provide a brilliant freshness whilst woody notes tone and soften this fragrance - it's becoming one of my favourites!
