THE KING'S ROAD COLLECTION

Our Artist Residency returns to our King’s Road boutique for its second chapter, in partnership with the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST). ​

Part gallery, part boutique, this new creative destination has been designed as a place of discovery, where scent, craft and artistry meet. Throughout the year, The King's Road Collection will host a series of curated installations, each offering a distinct creative perspective through the work of exceptional contemporary makers and artists.

The Other Side Of The Story is inspired by Penhaligon’s latest fragrance, The Manoeuvres of the Baroness, where appearances rarely tell the whole truth. It is a story of power, influence, and everything not quite appearing as it seems. ​

The King’s Road Collection is an artistic partnership between Penhaligon’s and the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST), an organisation dedicated to preserving and evolving Britain’s rich craft heritage. As long-standing champions of British craftsmanship, Penhaligon’s is proud to support emerging and establish artists by bringing their work to a wider stage.

THE ARTISTS BEHIND THE ART

This exhibition brings together four contemporary female artists whose work challenge perception, reveal concealed narratives and invite us to look beyond first impressions – much like The Baroness herself.

ANNE PETTERS​

Delicate glass leaves and a sculptural book explore the poetic space between what we see and what we feel. Fragile and intricately crafted, the works play with transparency, form and the tension between permanence and impermanence.

SOFIA KARAKATSANIS​

Transforming wood into sculptural objects that sit somewhere between furniture and fine art. Carved, bleached and scorched by hand, her pieces play with contrasts of beauty and discomfort, softness and tension, the familiar and the strange.​

NATASCHA MAKSIMOVIC

Using a contemporary take on traditional marbling, these site-responsive works on paper are shaped by movement, chance and material interaction, exploring memory, transformation and the traces a place leaves behind.

ANGELA FUNG​

Bringing together sculptural origami and intricate graphic drawings, Angela’s work features geometric folds that transform space, inviting moments of calm and reflection.
