So, where to wear? When to spritz? And how to make it last? Here’s our cheat sheet for scented success.

THE POWER OF HOTSPOTS

The first rule of fragrance: aim for the hotspots. No, not Wi-Fi. We mean the pulse points: the warmer zones where blood flows close to the skin. Think wrists, neck, the crook of your elbow. These spots turn a spritz into a statement. ​

A little mist on the wrists and inner elbows creates a subtle trail as you move. Add a dab to your collarbone for close encounters. Like every rule, there's an exception – and that would be behind the ears. Whispers only behind there, please.​

Another golden rule: resist the rub. Rubbing perfume into your skin breaks down the top notes and mixes things up in all the wrong ways. Let it soak in or if you must rush, gently tap. Dab, don’t destroy.

AND NOW FOR SOME QUINTESSENTIAL DOS AND DON'TS

Don’t spray your face. Just. Don’t. Eau de Toilette is punchy stuff and your skin deserves better.​

Do layer up. Got a signature scent? Great. Now match it with lotions, soaps, balms—the gang’s all here. This avoids the crime of clashing fragrances and keeps your aroma in sync from head to toe.​

And whatever you do, skip the clothing. Fabric won’t do your scent justice—and it might just do your favourite shirt dirty.​

Do spritz onto clean, dry skin. A warm, post-shower body is the perfect canvas. Your scent will bloom beautifully.​

Don’t overdo it. Trust us, your nose gets used to your fragrance fast. Others will still smell it even if you can’t. And go easy on anything labelled ‘intense’ or ‘concentrate’. They really do mean business.
