Is that the scent of another scandal arriving at the Portraits Mansion? Indeed, it is none other than Fortuitous Finley. His addictive salted pistachio scent has plenty of noses turning his way (in particular, Lady Blanche and... her daughter?). What’s so seductive about this steed? Why, let’s divulge the secrets of his creamy yet dark fragrance.

SALTED PISTACHIO
Originally cultivated in hot climates of the Middle East, East Asia and the Mediterranean, the pistachio is one of the oldest nut trees. In times gone by, pistachio was often used in dyes and medicines – and thankfully, now it is used in perfumery. As addictive as it is unusual, salted pistachio adds both creamy and green qualities to a scent. Its gourmand nature makes a fragrance a little sweeter, but this is offset by the darker, leather-like note of Saffiano™ in Fortuitous Finley.
VIOLET LEAF
Violet leaf is a unique note in perfumery, often associated with a fresh, green, and slightly earthy aroma that carries an air of elegance. It is an ancient flower, having been first documented in the 4th Century BC. However, it wasn’t untill the Renaissance and Victorian periods when it became a staple in the world of perfumery with the petals being ground into a powder and used to perfume hair and wigs. Nowadays, it’s almost impossible to harvest the scent of a violet from its petals, and perfumers now use the leaf to capture its sweet, fresh facets.
LEATHER
Timeless. Distinctive. Dare we say... seductive? Long has leather been used in perfumery to add richness, depth and warmth to a scent. Of course, leather itself can’t be distilled to make a fragrance, so it’s often certain types of wood, berries, aldehydes or synthetic notes that create the animalic facets we associate with leather. In Fortuitous Finley, it is the synthetic note of Saffiano™ that lends the fragrance this leather-like sensuality, evoking the tough yet supple character of a worn leather jacket or broken in saddle.
Now, is it time to take a chance on this wild horse?
