Bayolea Eau de Toilette

  • $95

  • Bayolea, a William Penhaligon grooming original. In case one’s barber is out-of-town.The exuberant, clean, aromatic-citrus, (an old-favourite). Now recreated for the thoroughly Modern Man. And Oh! So many iterations…. soaps, pomades, scrubs, waxes, oils.
Not forgetting the final spray of the finest Eau de toilette.

A Renaissance of a ‘Bay Rum’ preparation from the archives. Rediscovered in the pages of Time. The spice (black pepper, cardamom) of life (mandarin, tangerine) brings panache to the lemongrass and musk-patchouli that characterises this energetic scent.
So it’s hats off to the archives, and in particular the 16th century sailors who conceived of ‘Bay Rum’. Indeed, who better to take Caribbean bay leaves and soak them in rum as a rudimentary perfume. Need is indeed the mother of invention…
The final touch? Soothing lavender & moss, musk and amber-patchouli.
The firm favourites of gentlemen (and sailors).

Very Surprising. Green, Citrusy, Elegant Review
My first impression at the Penhaligons store wasn't as good as I expected. However I decided to try Bayolea at home. Well, I changed my mind and now I... can definitely say, that this is my favourite fragrance, which replaced my all-time-favourite Blenheim Bouquet. First of all, Bayolea is different. Very different. It's intensive (far from subtle Blenheim Bouquet), green, citrusy on the top, spicy at the base. Longevity is optimal (about 4-5 hour, at least). It's sharp, but not as strong as Sartorial.  ... more

A Modern Classic Review
Reading the top notes can be a little misleading, you would expect a burst of bright citrus. The lemongrass tempers it and your left with a wonderful ...smoky citrus opening. This is great scent. A new classic for any modern man. I will be picking up other items in the range. I love it.  ... more

Time Travelling Fragrance! Review
I saw a gorgeous Window display of neon green pharmacy bottles on Regent street and wondered into this wonderful perfumery. So taken aback by the scen...t of this new fragrance, fresh enough that its uplifting but deep enough that it stirs all kinds of emotion. It put me in a mind of a Victorian Gentleman lost in time here in the 21st Century. Loved it! Will definitely buy again.  ... more

Fantastic In Every Way Review
A few years back I went on a vacation to Australia and stayed at the Sofitel in Sydney. There was a scent in the hotel that I immediately fell in love... with. 2 months ago I went to Vegas and walked through a mall that had that same scent. A few weeks later I was sent a sample of Bayolea and was immediately transported back to Sydney and became intensely infatuated by the scent. Bayolea is fresh and masculine. It feels clean but is definitely not soapy. I think overall Bayolea strikes a very good balance between Citrus and Woody, something which when done right is very enjoyable. I'm not sure about silage, though it seems to be pretty good, however the longevity is very good, better than many of the other Penhaligon's products. I think this is a product that nearly every man would enjoy wearing, especially given the vast product range.  ... more
