  • The sweetness of this soliflore is first of all one of character. With the gentility (of experience) and the innocence (of youth) here is a flower that hangs its bells coyly, that delicately shares its perfume. But a soliflore made from a fine orchestration of notes. The opening is as fresh as May and as optimistic as Spring, geranium brings composure and stature to this citrus. As this imagined and romanticised creamy white flower continues to open its petals, rose, ylang ylang and jasmine release their scent. And because discretion is a virtue; one could almost be unaware of the sandalwood and oakmoss that give Lily of the Valley a timeless and forever finale. Royal wedding posies have taken note.

A Classic Never Dates Review
I wore this on my wedding day five years ago. I was 24. I had tried everything on offer at the time and this stood out as being so set apart from all ...the vanilla, sickly and generic bottles you find elsewhere - all with that familiar undertone that, once new, once modern, now feels more stale and dated than anything else. This is style over fashion, effortless and gentle. I'd go for a bottle of Lily of the Valley over anything you'll find with an enormous advertising campaign and silly tag lines every day of the week.  ... more

Excellence At Its Finest Review
I buy a 100 ml bottle of Lily of the Valley every year. I love this high quality perfume very much: the delicate, clean, fresh scent makes me feel ver...y feminine and brings me great joy. In the past I also had a small 15ml bottle extract of the Lily of the Valley but this version is no longer available in boutiques in Belgium. I use the talcum powder in the same range but unfortunately the quality of the talcum powder does not feel the same and I miss the old powder bottle (the single spring of Lily of the Valley against a white background was more pleasing to me). I am hoping Penhaligon's will add a high-quality shower gel to this range (the previous version missed the sharp green freshness of the fragrance). I have tried many other perfume brands of soliflore Lily of the Valley but none come anywhere close to my absolute favorite perfume of all time: Penhaligon's Lily of the Valley. I hope this perfume will be in the collection forever. I would be lost without it.  ... more

True Lily Of The Valley Review
This is my second all-time favorite perfume from Penhaligons. (my first was/is Elizabethian Rose- PLEASE BRING THIS BACK. PLEASE PLEASE) Lily of t...he Valley represents spring to me like nothing else does, always has. This captures it beautifully. It is clean, very green and fresh. There is a hint of tea rose. There is a creamy quality to the way that all of the scents are combined. I just purchased a new bottle after having another one for 2 years. Thinking of purchasing the candle as I imagine it would make my home smell really wonderful this spring  ... more

Springtime Review
My favourite. Subtle, elegant, fresh. Smells like May, sunshine, birds singing in the trees and a stroll in the garden. Elegant and feminine.

Forever Young Review
Lily of the Valley is a classic - but it does not feel like one. For me, it is a young and fresh fragrance with a lot of esprit. It suits young girls ...as well as ladies who feel forever young.  ... more
