This tour is a foray into Mayfair and a revelation of how this area became the most sought after part of town. Learn how smell divided London and how the May fair and other debauched events were banned in an area that became the place to live after the Great Fire of London of 1666. Berkeley Square was the hottest address in town with the top echelons of society enjoying a cocktail at Gunters before making their way to dinner at some of the smartest homes in London. As we go off the beaten track, we will discover small parks that are not all they seem at first glance and charming mews hold secrets of those more used to working in the kitchens and stables of the grand houses.
This walking tour starts at 11am Sunday 20th May and will last approximately 2 hours. For full terms and conditions please click here.
