What a summer! It’s been an incredibly busy one for me. Our team has been working hard giving our website a refresh. So along with Eblast preparation, working on the upcoming Movember campaign and dare I say it, Christmas drawing ever closer, I’ve been rushed off my feet. And I love it!
Monday 2nd October
The week always starts off with a catch up with the marketing team. I like to make sure I’m up to date with all the upcoming activity so I can plan my week accordingly. The ‘To Do’ list grows!
The first drafts of the online Movember artwork have come in over the weekend so I spend the rest of the morning liaising with the designers making any necessary changes.
In the afternoon I finalise the eblast that is going out at the end of the week. There is also lots of mopping up tasks and testing for the web refresh to do so I dip in and out of that all day.
Tuesday 3rd October
I spend most of the day with the E-commerce manager in a planning meeting. We look over my digital marketing plan for the rest of the year and finalise all the campaigns and their deadlines. This includes copy and creative for Movember, Autumn and Christmas and anything in between. When we’re happy with the UK plan we adjust it for the US. A long day stuck in the meeting room with lots of tea!
Wednesday 4th October
The new site goes live today! It’s all very exciting and the team spend the whole day testing and testing again to make sure everything is as it should be. When we are happy we push the button! Yey!
In the afternoon, when America wakes up, I liaise with the team in New York to make sure they are happy with the digital plan that I worked on yesterday.
Thursday 5th October
Our eblast is due to go out today so I spend the morning building a new landing page on the site for the email to click through to.
Our Movember holding page is also due to go up in the afternoon so, together with the digital marketing manager, we build that page and send the links over to the lovely boys and girls at Movember.
I start to think about copy writing for the campaigns that were outlined in the planning meeting. This is one of my favourite parts of the job. I make a few notes of any ideas that come to mind – ready to give it more time next week
Friday 6th October
I need to brief our designer with all the new work today. So I work out a schedule for her and start to build the wire frame briefs. A lot of the work will revolve around Christmas so I also need to make sure I work out a full spec for the xmas product web photography. I arrange for all the products to be sent to the photographers over the weekend.
Phew! I think that covers everything. It’s been a big week for ecommerce. So it’s off to the pub for a well-earned drink!
