We transformed our Covent Garden store into a visual map of our journey to Jodhpur in order to recreate the experience for the press.
Vaara’s creation was inspired by the Royal House of Marwar-Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India and the fragrance is named for the granddaughter of His Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh II in order to celebrate her birth and the family’s love for the city.
Our store was filled with images of Jodpur to mirror the chronology of our journey. We transformed our fragrance profiling room into a Rajasthani spice market with drawings from perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour’s notebook, photos taken at the market and the raw ingredients of Vaara.
Guests were invited to meet the perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour as well as His Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh II and his family. To complement the fine company we served canapés inspired by traditional Rajasthani dishes and beverages provided by Hendrick’s Gin that highlighted the floral notes of Vaara.
The event would truly not have been complete without a quintessential Peacock, the national bird of India, keeping watch!
