  • Bayolea, a William Penhaligon grooming original. In case one’s barber is out-of-town. The exuberant, clean, aromatic-citrus, (an old-favourite). Now recreated for the thoroughly Modern Man. And Oh! So many iterations…. soaps, pomades, scrubs, waxes, oils.
Not forgetting the final spray of the finest Eau de toilette.

A Renaissance of a ‘Bay Rum’ preparation from the archives. Rediscovered in the pages of Time. The spice (black pepper, cardamom) of life (mandarin, tangerine) brings panache to the lemongrass and musk-patchouli that characterises this energetic scent.
So it’s hats off to the archives, and in particular the 16th century sailors who conceived of ‘Bay Rum’. Indeed, who better to take Caribbean bay leaves and soak them in rum as a rudimentary perfume. Need is indeed the mother of invention…
The final touch? Soothing lavender & moss, musk and amber-patchouli.
The firm favourites of gentlemen (and sailors).

Bayolea Face Balm Review
I really enjoyed using this face balm, but now cannot purchase it, does anyone know if it has been discontinued ??

Unfortunately we have stopped producing the Bayolea Face Balm, we still have Sartorial and Blenheim Bouquet Aftershave Balms in our grooming range. We also have a Beard Oil suitable for fragrant layering by Penhaligon's customer services

New Love Review
Bayolea is my New Love. It is rakish, and mandarin-zesty at the same time as traditional English gentleman - but with an artistic, peppery edginess to... it that has me following the scent as it moves and changes. I would want my man to smell like this always and I want to steal little dabs of Bayolea for myself to wear, too, as I am drawn to its unusual spicy, rather mysterious fragrance. In a word: captivated.  ... more

Excellent! Review
What a wonderful collection, thoroughly recommended, and the fact that all aspects of men's grooming is catered for makes it perfect for those of us w...ho are a tad OCD about these matters. Top tip for anyone in the midst of Mo-vember, add a few drops of your beard & shaving oil to your moustache wax and then apply.  ... more

Very Surprising. Green, Citrusy, Elegant Review
My first impression at the Penhaligons store wasn't as good as I expected. However I decided to try Bayolea at home. Well, I changed my mind and now I... can definitely say, that this is my favourite fragrance, which replaced my all-time-favourite Blenheim Bouquet. First of all, Bayolea is different. Very different. It's intensive (far from subtle Blenheim Bouquet), green, citrusy on the top, spicy at the base. Longevity is optimal (about 4-5 hour, at least). It's sharp, but not as strong as Sartorial.  ... more
