  • The fragrance begins with a delicious blend of coriander and carrot seeds, creamy saffron and juicy quince: ingredients discovered during his trips to local markets in Jodhpur. The heart of Vaara belongs to the gardens of Balsamand, the Maharaja’s summer palace, with two glorious roses blended elegantly with a billowing white note of Indian magnolia, a touch of freesia and a whisper of iris. The fragrance settles into a luscious combination of honey, white musks and resins dripping over an aromatic base of tonka, cedarwood and sandalwood.

    • A Rose Of A Different Color
    • by T. J.
    • This fragrance is so beautiful. I am so glad I've found one that has rose in it that a guy can pull off too. Many people tend to only categorize rose for women or think it's outdated. To me, it's one of the most beautiful smells in the world. Why should only the ladies get to smell like roses? The sandalwood and cedar base balance this out nicely and keep it from being too cloying. Since I've worn this, I receive so many compliments. I love the dry down, and I only need two small sprays to get me through the work day. At night when going out, I apply more liberally. This is really nice. I want to thank you, Penhaligons, for this unique creation.

    • I had always worn Artemisia since it launched over 10 years ago, but suddenly decided I needed a change. Vaara is so beautifully mellow, and takes you on a journey through all of the different notes every time you catch the fragrance. It is light, but intense and really maintains it's full impact throughout the day and night. The wonderful story behind it's creation only adds to the magic of this perfect scent.

    • Gorgeous Intense Fragrance, Like The First Scent When You Bury Your Nose In A Rose
    • by Lesley Harrison
    • I was looking for a fragrance which evoked the intense spicy notes of rose when you bury your nose in the flower and had not found it until Vaara. Combined with my other favourite Freesia this is a wonderful floral scent with a spicy surround.

    • Bought this perfume during my trip to London at the store at Kings Road. Love the perfume and regret not buying a 100 ML bottle instead of the 50 ML. I really love this! The longevity is great and it's really an one of a kind perfume! My favorite!

    • Queen Of Heartnotes
    • by Jessica
    • I vividly remember my first encounter with Vaara: it was my last day in the UK after three long but fragrant years in St Andrews. With only a few hours to spare before venturing to the airport, I made one final pilgrimage to my favorite spot in Edinburgh: Penhaligon's. My eyes immediately fell upon a bottle of Vaara. Its melange of orange, turquoise, violet and gold seduced my eyes while one spritz of the saffron-rose elixir captivated my heart. Fit for a heroine of everyday life, Vaara is a jewel in perfume form. Even if I did not have room for the precious bottle in my suitcase, it remains at the top of my wish list.

    • A Happy Discovery!
    • by Lydia
    • This scent makes me smile whenever I wear it. It's a perfume to wear when I want to feel like going out in the sunshine and finding a new adventure! The quince manages to make it deliciously juicy and dry simultaneously. The rosewater is so pretty, and softens into the only rose note I would ever want to wear. No hint of artifice or the maiden-aunt-ness I associate with many rose perfumes! The florals blend wonderfully, and the spices (although this is by no means a 'spicy') add an extra slightly exotic, mouthwatering element. Vaara is an exciting, uplifting beauty of a perfume, that keeps you coming back for another sniff. Lovely!

    • A Truly Vibrant Experience.
    • by Christy
    • Vaara is one of my absolute favourite fragrances by Penhaligon's, as soon as it is sprayed you are transported to a fragrant indian fruit and spice market. When first sprayed the head notes comes at you in a way that seems as though citrus fruits and roses have smashed to the ground and then splashed onto you. As the head notes simmer away the presence of magnolia, peony and iris dominate creating a delicious harmony between both head and heart notes. a while after applying, the head and heart notes fade away slowly releasing the intensity of the base notes and a rich sense of honey, sandalwood and Tonka bean, a truly vibrant experience.

    • Unique And Mysterious, Feels Like Royalty
    • by Lesley
    • I stumbled upon the Penhaligon shop in Singapore and was immediately drawn to the numerous perfume bottles on display. I was introduced by the friendly and knowledgeable staff to one of their newest scents Vaara and it was love at first smell. I liked it because the scent was unique and not the kind that I would usual smell on other people. It was kind of mysterious and special and made me feel like royalty myself. I went around and kept on sniffing on my arm where I had spritzed it on and the more I liked it. Although it is a bit more pricey than the other scents, I feel that this is a very good find and totally worth every centavo I paid for. I walked out the shop a very happy and fragrant lady and until today, looking at the bottle never fails to make me feel special.

    • I received a bottle of this perfume on Christmas from my mother. I didn't expect to like this perfume as much as i did, to say the least, it is one of my favourite perfumes to date! It's everything I could ever ask for in a perfume: fresh, clean, creamy, floral, elegant and sophisticated. LOVE IT! xx

    • An Enjoyable Floral...
    • by Richard Kogok
    • Vaara is a very wet, dewy floral, maybe a little too feminine for some guys, but I LOVE IT! It opens with a slight, green, herbal freshness, then quickly segues into a wet, dewy bouquet of white blossoms! Through its mid-life, Vaara shies away from the florals into a herbal respite. However, underneath the herbs sits a slight green sweet coconut flowery note that lets the wearer beware that this is still a floral scent. The dry down is a softer, greener floral that tames its unctuous white blossoms. Vaara is a bold floral for the colder months better worn under thick, heavy Winter sweaters or if worn during the warmer months, spritz lightly and sparingly. Personally, I feel this is a MUST BUY, but I LOVE heavy fragrances and wear them year round.

    • Vaara Eau de Parfum Review
    • by Richie
    • Jet lag can be a swine, but when you arrive somewhere exotic early in the morning, or late at night, and go straight to sleep for what feels like a week it means you can awake into a rush of the senses. Vaara is like that first rush of exoticism, and the excitement that follows. A smell that evokes the east but never over powers you. It's like a walk in the chowk, a lassi on the verandah or a first taste of the days spicey delights. I love it.
