  • A fresh and transparent bergamot opens the dance: its citrus freshness mimicking the graceful flight of the prima ballerina as she leaps into the spotlight. Green amber softens the effect and contrasts with sparkling pink pepper, which resonates like the steps of the ballerina on pointe. Iris soon takes centre stage, eclipsing all around her with her natural grace and powdery charm, until she begins a sensuous pas de deux with potent Jasmine Sambac. In the base, Alberto introduces an intimate, musky leather note to represent the pointe shoe and then light touches of sandalwood, vetiver, vanilla and benzoin to signify the soul of ancient theatres.

    • I was given this as a wee free tester when I was in picking up the gorgeous minis tin which I adore. The Iris Prima fragrance is like nothing else in the collection and I find it feminine yet still sensual without being over powering. It sits on my skin beautifully and my boyfriend loves it also! Just need to save the pennies to get a proper size next time.

    • Ballet With A Twist!
    • by Charlotte Wood
    • When first opening the bottle you are greeted with the smell of leather and iris, beautifully twirling together. After a short while this goes away and is replaced with a sweet powdery ness like makeup and costumes, that then truly dances around your body. Iris prima captures the memories of pointe shoes, the lights beaming on the floor, layers of makeup creating a masterpiece on the ballerinas face and the last and most important one is 'The spirit of the ballet'. I recommend you to buy iris prima as it would truly add to anyone's perfume collection. It truly captures the ballets precision and beauty and is by far one of Penhaligons best scents!

    • Beautyfull Leather-Iris
    • by Jaana Ström
    • I have been searching for a long time floral leather scent, and I felt in love with Iris Prima. It is as elegant as One can be with a deep and soft soul. Leather have been a bit hard note for me, but here I fell in love with it, its perfect and soft! With powdery Iris nuances.. that is softening leather aroma so well. Quality scent for true Lady. Its for ballerinas, but also for those who loves art of dance, for those ladies who have wished to be a ballet dancer. Iris Prima is also helping these Ladies to live their dream come true "through" the true beauty of scent. Thank You for creating Iris Prima. Its for me olfactory dream come true with floral-leathery scent but also fullfills my heart with joy of its artfull soul. Lots of Rainbowy Hugs from North Finland ***333***

    • Perfect
    • by Susanne
    • I am very complicated with scents. Most of them are too ... something for me: too citrussy, too heavy, too fresh ... So when my husband found this perfume in a lovely Viennese shop and gave it to me at Christmas I was a little bit sceptical. No need for that: It's wonderful. A little bit young girl, a little bit ladylike. Light and yet very individual. Finally I have found "my" perfume.

    • Beautiful And Charming!
    • by Ms Jaya Bell
    • This fragrance is so elegant yet charming.I was looking for a more winter fragrance as i use Malabah during the summer months.I certainly got what I was desiring! I am a lover of vintage glamorous design and clothing and this perfumes captures glamour without being overpowering. It sits powdery and puts me in mind of a 1920's starlets dressing room.Though it has a classy vintage feel it is timeless.I myself am 27 and enjoy this fragrance as much as my mother does (i will not disclose her age) this fragrance is not age exclusive so next time your shopping give it a try!

    • A Warm Iris
    • by Chi
    • Lovely fresh citrus opening with a touch of leather (from ballet shoes?), then the nice orris butter kicks in. Dry down with more leather and a touch of creamy sandalwood. A well balance and crafted fragrance. This is a warm iris scent which is very different to cold Serge Lutens’ Iris Sliver Mist.

    • This is a lovely smell. Feminine and powdery yes it conjures up the scent of leather of the ballet shoes. It is a Nutcracker. I would recommend it to ballet connoisseurs but also to those wanting to be feminine, confident and discreet at night or during the day. Delightful.

    • The Ephemerality Of Fluttering Pirouette Captured In A Timeless Scent
    • by Adèle Zelda Schelling
    • Penhaligon's Iris Prima Eau de Parfum is an ode to the sweet leathery scent of leaping nymphs in heaps of billowing tulle. The jasmine performs a pas de deux with the twirling pink pepper and bergamot, before the tip-toed entrance of the iris. Sandawood and vanilla then warmly embrace the dazzled public, in a slow and mellow curtain fall. The result is a musky floral tinged with leather, which captures the ephemeral beauty of a fleeting arabesque, delicately pours it into a crystal vial and renders it timeless, such as the sweet memories of a breathtaking performance.
