Black Lacquer Boxes

Founded in the 1940s, the family-owned Ercolano factory in Italy produces these elegant and highly collectable works of art. The combination of age-old craftsmanship and modern technology allow the Sorrentine craftsmen to create such precise effects. Our lacquer boxes are each treated to 12-13 individually applied layers of lacquer and are polished to a 'piano' finish, while our marquetry boxes are the result of traditional inlay techniques using finer slivers of rare and precious woods.
