In 1872 William Penhaligon created his first fragrance, Hammam Bouquet Extract, a provocative scent, designed exclusively for the Jermyn Street Turkish Baths in the heart of London. Penhaligon’s Elixir 2008 and Penhaligon’s Hammam Bouquet 1872 echo each other across the intervening years; they are both opulent and daring; mysterious and complex with the note of Turkish Rose drawing the link through time.
