Exciting times at Penhaligon’s as we begin a British perfumery invasion of France.
We have recently opened our second boutique in Paris, on the Rue de Francs Bourgeois in the area of Paris known as the Marais, a historically aristocratic district, and home to countless perfumers and perfumeries. Named for the inhabitants of the private mansion of le Manzurier, too poor to pay taxes, they were known as the francs-bourgeois.
This week saw our first boutique opening outside of Paris, in Bordeaux. The store is located on the Place Gambetta, one of the main squares in Bordeaux. It gained its name in 1883 in memory of Léon Gambetta, Governing minister of the Third Republic.
Both of the stores have been designed by Christopher Jenner who designed and refurbished our Regent Street boutique, which was recently named by Saatchi & Saatchi as the best shop in the world!
Will you be visiting our new stores on your summer holidays this year?
