  • Created in 1976, this classic Soliflore is sweet, fresh and graceful. Considered by industry experts to be one of the finest lily of the valley fragrances, it is a deceptively complex interpretation of the delicate flower. Opening with warm soft touches of citrus and bergamot, its heart is overflowing with the beguiling scent of creamy white flowers; rose, ylang ylang, jasmine and lily of the valley. The sandalwood and oakmoss in the base strengthen the composition, giving it persistence and staying power.

    • Perfect Scent, Wonderful Memories
    • by Amanda
    • Every year my mother picked the lilies of the valley from the garden at this time of year and put them in our silver christening mugs...they were so beautiful and fragrant. I have just picked them in her memory, and placed them in my daughter's christening mug. The scent is amazing, and we have the incredible bath and shower gel which fills the house with the same beautiful scent to add to our wonderful memories. It's so evocative - no other products even come close.

    • This scent brings my childhood back to me. My Grandmother grew lily of the valley flowers Every day until her death, when I was aged 15, she gave me a bunch of them. Now, all these years later and I am a grandmother myself, I grow them in my garden. This perfume is so evocative of the flower and lingers so beautifully for so long.

    • Timeless Classic
    • by Debra Artz
    • My husband bought my favorite scent as a gift for our April wedding anniversary. Lily of the Vally is my signature scent. It is green and modern. It has the clarity of the first green spring leaves that bud on awakening bare branches. It is pure and grassy and sweet. I have had so many compliments and questions over the years from men and women of all ages asking me what I was wearing. The best thing about it, it is very intimate....you must be close to the wearer to appreciate it's essence. I grow Lily of the Valley in our garden and Penhaligons scent is the only one I have found that captures the pure essence of the most precious flower of spring.

    • One Of My Favourite Scents Ever
    • by anonymous
    • Lily of the Valley happens to be one of my favourite flowers and this perfume captures its beautiful aroma perfectly. Some may call it old-fashioned, I prefer to call it classic. It is also in more than one way like "The Morning Mood" by Grieg. Simply perfect.

    • The Essence Of Spring!
    • by Julieanne
    • I regularly buy this for my Mum as she has loved it for years - it smells to clean and fresh, but with a real scent of Lily of the Valley - as if you're walking through a field full of them - not overpowering but lasts for hours - also buy her the Body Cream and Soaps. Her definite favourite :)

    • I love heady, old fashioned French perfumes so Lily of the Valley came as a surprise. It's wonderful. I am unable to analyse the scent as well as other reviewers but I can say it is fresh, uplifting and not remotely sickly, girly. Get my drift?

    • Penhaligon's Lily of the Valley is a wonderfully gentle and serene fragrance. It has the grace to be sweet but not sickly, ladylike but not prim. It is warm and as welcoming as the first breath of Spring. Less poetically, but nevertheless an important consideration: yes, the price is quite high. However, Penhaligon's Lily of the Valley is one instance in which the old slogan "You get what you pay for" holds true.

    • Beautifully Feminine.

    • Starting of with fresh zest, quickly becoming wonderfully floral without being heavy or cloying and lastly the Oakmoss and Sandalwood come though to stay with the flowers, makes this just gorgeous.
