Iris Prima, the new scent from British fragrance house Penhaligon’s, is a work of olfactory choreography, with Iris Absolute in the role of Prima Ballerina.
Effortlessly elegant and faintly melancholy, Iris Prima offers a fascinating glimpse into the secluded yet magical world of the ballet.
In a unique partnership with English National Ballet, Penhaligon’s set about capturing the very essence of ballet, turning to master perfumer Alberto Morillas as choreographer. Alberto has captured every aspect of this remarkable artistic world in the iconic Penhaligon’s bottle.

Given exclusive behind the scenes access to two of English National Ballet’s rising stars, Alberto Morillas was able to glean insights into this secretive and magical world, allowing him to bottle the spirit of the Ballet.
We held our press event for the gorgeous Iris Prima on Wednesday 22nd of May, in the event space at The Gallery, Soho, transforming it into a ballet studio for a day. Journalists were invited to discover “what does ballet smell like?”
In June we held an event in Paris to unveil the beautiful Iris Prima to the French press. For the launch we curated an exhibition in a gallery in Le Marais to enable guests to explore our collection of photography, costumes, props and film.
