Given exclusive behind the scenes access to two of English National Ballet’s rising stars, Alberto Morillas was able to glean insights into this secretive and magical world, allowing him to bottle the spirit of the Ballet.
Nathan Young and Lauretta Summerscales most recently danced together in the Tribute to Rudolf Nureyev at the London Coliseum.
Nathan Young, born in Mackay, Australia, started dancing at age four and joined English National Ballet in 2007. Nathan has won the Bronze medal in the Genée competition in 2005, and nominated for the ENB’s 2013 Emerging Dancer competition, and was praised for his portrayal of the lead role in the 2012 production of The Nutcracker.
Lauretta Summerscales, hailing from Surrey, started dancing at three years old and joined the English National Ballet in 2009. Lauretta played Odette/Odile in Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall earlier in 2013, as well as winning the People’s Choice Award in the 2013 Emerging Dancer Comptetion, taking the Gold Medal at the Beijing International Ballet Competition and was promoted to First Soloist in July 2013.
