So London Fashion Week is over for another season and as one of the final shows, Meadham Kirchhoff did not disappoint. There was a lot of excitement in the air for the S/S13 collection which was entitled A Cautionary Tale.
The show space in Bedford Square was turned into a sumptuous boudoir with hand painted screens, Penhaligon’s candles, long-stemmed roses, frosted cupcakes, mirrors, fruit and Penhaligon’s Cornubia filling the air.
This is the seventh season that Penhaligon’s has worked with the designers, who choose a scent to represent each season’s collection. To scent the latest show, Ben & Edward chose one of Penhaligon’s most glamorous fragrances:
“Choosing Cornubia was easy as we wanted something reminiscent of old world beauty. We also loved the packaging, the ribbon bow and the name Cornubia.” Meadham Kirchhoff
Cornubia is a glamorous oriental rich with musk, woods and swathes of cherry-sweet vanilla and hypnotic heliotrope. It is the perfect companion to Meadham Kirchhoff’s lavish collection.
The Meadham Kirchhoff show was reminiscent of opulent eighteenth/nineteenth century Paris, with many of the models sporting Marie Antoinette curls. The stunning show featured bows, ruffles, lace, rhinestones, brocades, eclectic colours and unbelievable attention to detail. We want it all!
